MASSENA - Massena village police are looking for the man they say intentionally rammed his truck into a police car, before fleeing the scene on foot early Thursday morning.
In a statement released Thursday morning Police Chief Timmy J. Currier said the man they’re looking for is Christopher A. Hebert, 42, of Massena.
Mr. Currier said an unidentified officer attempted to pull over Mr. Hebert on Spruce Street at approximately 3 a.m. before the incident took place.
“The operator of the vehicle being stopped intentionally drove the 2013 Ford F150 pickup truck into the vehicle causing extensive damage,” Mr. Currier said.
As of noon on Thursday Hebert was still at-large.
Mr. Currier said an investigation into the accident remains ongoing and charges are pending.
Hebert, who is a convicted felon was sentenced to nine years in prison following a 2001 conviction on second-degree burglary charges. Following his release, he then served time for violating the terms of his parole. He was most recently released from prison in December of 2013 and remains on post-release supervision.
