MALONE - An Akwesasne couple charged in December with selling cocaine pleaded guilty to reduced charges this week in Franklin County Court.
Owen Swamp, 35 and Crystal Cook, 34, each pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They are each scheduled to be sentenced on April 1.
Grand jury indictments handed up on Dec. 6 accused Swamp of selling cocaine as well as possessing the drug with the intent to sell it on Oct. 25, 2012 and Cook with doing the same on Sept. 21, 2012.
In other recent county court action before Judge Robert G. Main Jr.:
■ Ricardo Pimental, 28, of Greene Correctional Facility was sentenced to two to four years for first-degree attempted promoting prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The charges stemmed from Oct. 6, 2011 while he was an inmate at Upstate Correctional Facility.
The sentence will run consecutive to the 11 years he is currently serving for first-degree manslaughter.
■ Andrew M. Comins, 24, of Norfolk was sentenced to five years probation and fined $1,000 for felony driving while intoxicated. He had pleaded guilty to the charge on July 24, 2012.
The charge stemmed from a July 8, 2010 offense.
