TRESPASSING - HOPKINTON - Massena-based state police charged Timothy Terpstra, 55, of Remlap, Alabama, with trespassing at 6:12 p.m. Monday at 580 state Route 458 in the town of Hopkinton. Terpstra was arraigned in local court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $2,000. Troopers had responded to a report of a burglary in progress at the Hopkinton property.
PETIT LARCENY - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Seetreeon S. Torres, 20, of Bronx and Christopher Fernandez, 19, of Bronx with petit larceny at 4:50 p.m. Monday following a shoplifting incident at Walmart.
PETIT LARCENY - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Tiffany M. Hickman, 22, of Watertown with petit larceny at 6:55 p.m. Monday following a shoplifting incident at Walmart.
ASSAULT - BRUSHTON - Malone-based state police charged Matthew J. Hosler, 22, of Bangor with third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, fourth-degree criminal mischief - preventing emergency calls, third-degree criminal mischief for damages greater than $250, resisting arrest, second-degree harassment, unlawful possession of marijuana, endangering the welfare of a child and driving while intoxicated following an incident reported at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday from the village of Brushton.
PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Dennis J. Burns, 37, of 946 County Route 27, Oswegatchie, and Ronald J. Dancause, 45, of 1920 County Route 27, Russell, with petit larceny at 7:07 p.m. Monday following an alleged shoplifting incident at Walmart. Dancause reportedly walked past the last point of sale without paying for four undisclosed items, while Burns was in possession of a headlamp flashlight, sunglasses, a filet knife and two pairs of MX gloves. Police said the value of Burns merchandise was $112.48. Both men were released on appearance tickets for Jan. 8 in Massena Village Court.
STOP SIGN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Nancy S. Perry, 26, of Massena for a stop sign violation following a traffic stop at 4:30 p.m. Monday on Grove Street near Ridgewood Avenue.
INADEQUATE EXHAUST - MASSENA - Village police ticketed John M. Sardegna, 69, of Massena for operation of a vehicle with an inadequate exhaust following a traffic stop at 1:04 p.m. Monday on Maple Street.
