MASSENA — Village police charged Joshua A. Barksdale, 26, Nicholville, with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, on Sunday.

Mr. Barksdale allegedly violated an order of protection held by his estranged wife by going to her Massena residence, police said. He was arrested at 11:06 a.m. Sunday and was to be arraigned in Village Court.
